ChatGPT Wrote A Guest Newsletter For The Pin Drop
Here is what the popular chatbot said about the importance of positive mindset and good leadership
It’s only been around since November of 2022, and already New York City schools banned it outright. College professors are planning around it on the fly. It is even coming for your hiring process.
This is not a riddle, I promise! Nor is this about something inherently bad or evil.
It is about a new technology tool called ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI that is on a meteoric rise in popularity since its public debut in November.
For those unfamiliar with ChatGPT, it is a generative artificial intelligence that can accept queries and offer elegant, novel solutions in return. In simpler terms, ChatGPT is a really smart chatbot — perhaps the smartest one developed to date — that can answer just about any question you ask it in new and exciting ways.
So intelligent, in fact, that it made waves on social media almost immediately upon its release. Many geospatial developers and Python programmers who are active on social media posted extensively about its utility as a tool for writing custom scripts and also lauded its ability to debug code.
ChatCPT quickly became part of the programmer’s arsenal alongside the popular development site StackOverflow. Even I got in on the ChatGPT action last week when some of my Python syntax needed help:
What is impressive about using ChatGPT to troubleshoot programming is that you can feed it custom code and it will respond with solutions that can be copied and pasted right back into your existing program. You can see this in action in the example above with my own code.
Beyond this anecdotal experience, the evidence that ChatGPT is the most promising generative AI in the world to date continues to mount. It is reported that Microsoft is in talks with OpenAI to invest $10 billion into the application.
You read that right.
Ten. Billion. Dollars.
So what else did I do with this powerful, popular new tool? I gave it a writing assignment, of course.
Given the following prompt …
write a story about mindset and leadership using the themes of maps, travel, and technology
… ChatGPT delivered an impressive, on-brand story about the power of a positive mindset and strong leadership. Read it for yourself below, and feel free to share your thoughts about ChatGPT and artificial intelligence in the comments.
As the leader of a small start-up, Jane knew that she needed to keep an open mind and adapt to change in order to succeed. She had always been a planner, relying on maps and technology to guide her on her journey to success.
But as she navigated the ups and downs of the business world, Jane began to realize that the most effective leaders were those who were able to think on their feet and adapt to new situations. She began to shift her mindset, focusing on flexibility and adaptability rather than strict planning.
One day, Jane and her team were faced with a major challenge: a new competitor had entered the market, offering a similar product at a lower price. Rather than panicking or clinging to their original plan, Jane took a deep breath and reminded herself that the best leaders are those who are able to pivot and adapt to new circumstances.
She gathered her team and encouraged them to brainstorm new ideas, challenging them to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions. Together, they developed a new marketing strategy that leveraged the latest technology to reach a wider audience and differentiate their product from the competition.
Thanks to their newfound mindset and leadership, Jane and her team were able to navigate the challenges of the business world and emerge stronger than ever. They continued to embrace adaptability and innovation, always looking for new ways to grow and improve.
As she looked back on her journey, Jane realized that the key to success was not a strict map or a set plan, but rather a willingness to embrace change and adapt to new circumstances. And with this mindset, she knew that she and her team could go anywhere and achieve anything.
