A short note today to recognize a milestone at the office

FILLING IN THE MAP The GIS team at the St. Tammany Parish Assessor’s Office hit a lofty milestone recently and continues its effort to map all of the parcels within its jurisdiction.

The St. Tammany Parish Assessor's Office recently surpassed 130,000 parcel features in its Geographic Information System.

It is an achievement worth celebrating, and I want to use this space today to extend my deepest gratitude and congratulations to the entire team at the St. Tammany Parish Assessor's Office. It is a proud moment for all of us as we successfully catalogued 130,186 parcel features in GIS as of March 1, 2024.

A journey that began in 2013 brought the office from zero to this incredible milestone, and it is all thanks to the unwavering dedication, hard work, and support of the entire organization. A special acknowledgement to STPAO’s talented GIS team — Bryan Bushnell, Karen Key, Rusty Waldrup, Jane Murphy, Fernando Cundin, Brandon Pearson, and Zane White — whose expertise and commitment to high standards are the driving force behind the success of the office’s GIS efforts.

With 130,186 parcels accounted for, the parcel capture project is at an estimated completion rate of 97 percent, leaving less than 4,000 parcels remaining to be mapped. This achievement is not just a number, however. It is a testament to what can be accomplished when a group of individuals work together toward a common goal.
